Vallivue HS College Career Fair
Business Rep JR Finlay, JATC Coordinator Greg Backus, and Organizer Carlos Aroyyo recently attended the Vallivue HS Homecoming Carnival College + Career Fair. All four grades attended this outdoor fair. We met with the students and talked with them about apprenticeship programs that might benefit students that are not planning on pursuing a traditional college education program.
There were hands-on demonstrations and practical applications of how to use one of many pieces of equipment. One of the pieces of equipment was the 4’ brake, and we used it to fabricate small cell phone holder’s out of one small piece of metal.
Also helping the Vallivue high school in recruiting more students into the Welding program of their high school, which provides skill-based learning and focuses on how to teach practical skills. This means that upon completion of the program a student has the necessary knowledge and hands-on skills needed to perform specific tasks.
