Strike Authorization – Tri-Cities
On Saturday, SMART Local 55 members in the Tri-Cities voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike, with 96% voting YES and 4% voting NO.
Apprentice Childcare Stipend Pilot Program in Boise
SMART Local 55 in Boise is proud to recognize the first group of apprentices receiving a new childcare stipend designed to support working families as they begin their careers in the sheet metal trade. The initiative is part of a three year pilot program aimed at helping first year apprentices balance the demands of training, work, and family responsibilities.
Support Behavioral Health, Protect Union Health Plans
The Building Trades have been strong, vocal supporters of improving behavioral health services for construction workers. We’ve pushed to reduce stigma, expand access, and make sure every worker can get help when they need it. That commitment hasn’t changed. But HB 2720 takes the wrong approach.
